Acquisition Tower In Africa

American Tower Corp. has agreed to buy the telecommunications tower in Nigeria and Brazil worth US $ 2.2 billion. This was done as the company plans expand the international market.

Within a week, the American Tower to add assets to acquire 4,800 wireless towers in Negeria of Bharti Airtel Ltd. for US $ 1.05 billion and 6,480 transmission in Brazil worth US $ 1.2 billion.

Jim Taiclet (Chief Executive Officer of American Tower Corp.) had said "With the largest population and economy in Africa as well as wireless infrastructure is relatively backward, we see Nigeria as a tremendous growth opportunity"
Prior to the deal, it has to have 70,000 cell towers in the global market.
